LATELY

Things so far have been going great. Everything but my writings. It's like I have been so busy that I just could not keep up really good. My life is changing every day and with every step I make I get stronger along the way. Hopefully one day my writings will also. I have been thinking out some things about my life and as i look and reality starts to hit me I start to see how good I am blessed with the little writing skills that I have. Lately I have been trying to figure out my life and all the things that are coming with it. but life just gets harder and harder with the days. Some times I stop and think about crazy stuff that I have wrote about when I was little, even if they were just little fairy tale stories of some sort. No matter what I seemed to write about it always seemed to resemble my life in some shape form or fashion. well maybe that's just my way of saying that i really really love my life!!

MY Writings

Today I am feeling good about my writings. After seeing that I have completed all my work so far I feel great. I mean I know that I was on the ball but I didn't think that i had of my work done. But I mean now that I know all my work is in does not mean that I will start slacking. I'm working really hard to go in life and strive toward excellence.

Chapter 2 Making Contracts with Your Reader

This handout talks about the importance of a main idea. I have found out that it is important to have a main idea so that your reader knows what direction they are going in. Both the reader and the writer look for meaning, for a focus, for a main idea. The main idea is a contract for themselves and fir their future readers that establishes the reason behind the writing. finding main ideas in free writing. Just because it is a free write really does not mean that your writing has no point because all writing has some type of point that they are trying to get out. I mean you are talking about something, even if its just you saying that you do not like to write.

Where Do I Start Chapter 3

This chapter talks about Thomas Edison's great idea. They tell you how there are two distinct parts to the invention process. Most writers like Edison jot down lots of words and ideas in their heads and reject and except some. They mostly explore their thinking by letting their writing guide them. Most writers let the fact that they want to write correctly get to them which causes them to mess up more.When you free write you should not be concerned about grammar errors, mechanics, organization and spelling errors. The only rule is that you have to write until a given time or minutes.

A Student Guide to The Portfolio Chapter 1

This reading gives me a better understanding of this class. Basically 095 and 096 are the same classes and when you pass them you get placed in 101. Only after you do your portfolio. So at the end if u go to 096 that means that you failed and 101 means u passed. Some proffessors found that in 095 the instructors taught grammer skills in stead of learning how to write so that put them back alot. So many of the professors had lots of complaints. When you write your portfolio, you should include two essays that has been reviewed many times and they should explain what you learned in this class. Based on the quality of this work the commitee will decided if they want to pass you to the next writing class section. But you must also know that you must also reach your reading compas placement scroe requirement to enter the class.

What did you write this week and how did it go?

This week, well last week i had to write a letter of intent for this class that i wanted to enroll. the paper had to be one page long and we had to explain why we wanted to be in this class. by the way its not a regular class its a tour to Tennessee and Atlanta during spring break. But back to the paper. so i started the paper off talking about my status at SWIC as far as my year and my major and things like that. then i went on to stat that how the tour would help me as far as educating my self as well as others and also help we with my major. then i went on to say that i work in the minority transfer center here at SWIC and then i ended the paper with other great ideas. when she read the paper she very impressed and i was excepted into the class. so i think that the paper was great.

What is your worst writing habit?

I think that my worst writing habit is always making my writings about me. I mean i know that it's my writing but some how i always end up talking about or comparing myself in it somehow. for example, i can start a paper off about the importance of time management, then start talking about my time and how i manage it and next thing you know i have told my hole life story. Some people say that is great but to me it can b pretty complicated. Another is always jumping from one subject to a hole different one that don't even make since at all with what the subject is about. my mother use to always say that it was because i think to much about to much. Crazy, yeah i know right.
